Updates wont download ps4

Back in April I got me a 4TB external hard drive for my PS4, few weeks went by The guy said the external HD update doesn't say anything about I have to manually trigger one for it to be detected annd start downloading :(

I can't download/update for ps4 but I have 400TB (system) and 1.84TB(extended) left.
